Two days away from the sun

The cool, breezy winds of Baguio was just what I needed to get away from the piercing heat of the summer sun here in Manila. The drive going there was surprisingly shorter than usual. Or at least it felt like it. Must be because I was in total slumber from the moment I got inside the car up until we reached the mountains of Baguio. Amazing. Total eyes-wide shut some freakin 4 hours after. Upon arrival, the change in weather was totally refreshing. The usual unbearable coldness was nowhere to be felt. It was just perfect.

Sunflower loveGotta love the happy sunflower background. That’s me with my sister and cousin.

Aside from my mom and sisters, my aunt, cousin and my mom’s friend went along for the trip. Almost everywhere in Baguio exudes a unique city-like chillax environment. So I found myself wanting to lie down and sleep for the most part of the day. Sure beats the insomniac, nocturnal days here.

Starbucks hallmark moment Of course, we went to the usual hotspots, shopped for the usual pasalubong and took in most of the sights. More bonding moments with my family. The snapshot on the right is of my sister and I over at Starbucks. My sister and I were taking lots of photos of random sights and scenery everywhere. We almost forgot how beautiful the flowers in Baguio are when they are at bloom. Let the little collage below show some of my favorite snapshots of Baguio. Of course, they’re all in my Flickr Photostream.

Me and the flowers

The trip was meant to be short, but proved to be worthwhile at the end. At least, I got the chance to actually sleep before midnight! The temporary recluse from my lovely Mac and the internet was probably a good thing too.

But now that I’m back here, I’m reunited with my TV series, and have discovered newfound love over House and Ugly Betty. My long list of TV series downloads gets longer and longer every time I morph into my potato element. This week is going to be another busy, busy week devoted to my Candy-magazine related shoots and deadlines, my BlueREP responsibilities and my budding web and graphic design freelance career (haha!).

Layla: Yes. Joss Stone is wonderful. I do prefer her older work than the new ones. Although she’s hotter. haha.
