Of Simple Pleasures, My 2ndYr QPI and a BlueREP Meeting

Tagged by my Polsci guru, April. Name five simple pleasures.
- A good dessert. Sweets do wonders for my mood. I can’t last a day without chowing down on something that will satisfy my sweet tooth. And I’m not just talking about the expensive ones or those that are restricted to chocolate or dairy. I’m also a big fan of fruits. In fact, I actually prefer a good fruit tart, pie or pastry over a chocolate cake sometimes. My favorite chocolate? Anything with hazelnut and lots and lots of Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. A little slice of heaven right then and there.
- Good conversation/company with good friends/family over good food. Priceless. May it be feeling sex and the city moments with my girl friends, honest and inspiring heart to hearts with my mom and dad, in-your-face, anything under the sun talks with my guy and girl buds (which always turn out to be this hilarious, laugh-trip episode), and light-hearted, series-engrossed to deep, intimate conversations with my boyfriend.
- Discovering a good piece of art, appreciating it, and letting it inspire you. This includes finishing a great piece of literature, discovering a good band or Broadway musical, or even just by stumbling over a beautiful artwork.
- Performing on stage and with an audience. Singing my heart out, taking on a totally different character and having a chance to share a story.
- Rainy days wherein I find myself tucked under my fluffy covers with a full-blast airconditioned room, while listening to great music, writing in my journal and drowning on a cup of hot choco. Finally when the rain stops, I look out to see a giant, happy rainbow.
Shucks. The list can go and on. Life is too beautiful to sum it up in under a list of 5 simple pleasures. We should never deny ourselves with these simple pleasures. It doesn’t have to be expensive and grand. Let us take time to look at what this world and the people around...
