Photoblog: Singapore

Our trip to Singapore has been way too much fun for words. And after taking around 800 pictures and more than an hour’s worth of video, a photoblog is the way to go. My apologies in advance for this incredibly overloaded entry.

Day 1
Woohoo! Singapore!

(Top): Flying via Singapore Airlines with my sisters beside me. We ended up watching Enchanted. Feel good movies are fun.
(Middle): That’s me and my good friend from high school, Jam at the Singapore Airport.
(Bottom): That’s really just my sister clicking away as we head on to our car.

The first place we visited was the Jurong Bird Park. Singapore is a haven for plant and animal life with gorgeous reserves, parks and zoos. Honestly, I was both anxious and worried because I’ve read a lot about torturing animals during training period and such. So there were definitely some parts of my trip that I wasn’t excited to see animals performing. :(

(Below) There was this area where you can feed Lory birds. They were flying all over the place and one of them remained in my shoulder for quite some time!

One of the more beautiful attractions we visited is riding the Singapore Flyer. It’s like this giant ferris wheel, wherein you can totally see a huge part of Singapore. It was so nice because we were able to ride it during sunset. And we were able to see the beautiful transition to evening, wherein the lights are lit and Singapore is transformed into this beautiful city with a fantastic skyline.

Day 2
This day was devoted to more animal and plant life as we visited the Orchid Garden, Singapore Zoo and Night Safari. Orchids have always been my favorite flower, so it was nice to go into a place overflowing with orchids. I want a garden of my own someday.

We also rode on a River Cruise and visited the Merlion Park.

Day 3
We did a little shopping in the morning and headed to Sentosa Island in the afternoon! There were just too many attractions there that I don’t really want to mention anymore. haha. I guess the pictures will have to do.

Sentosa Part I

(Top): Cable car ride on the way to the island. The other one is me goofing around with a hat inside one of the stores in Singapore.
(Bottom): Everyone went to try on the Luge (shown in the picture) and Skyride (not shown).

Other places we visited in Sentosa (as shown in the picture below) include the Underwater world and the 3D Cineblast.

Sentosa Part II

We ended our trip to Sentosa with a spectacular lights and water show entitled Songs of the Sea. I was in total awe the whole time. Beautiful, beautiful show that can solely make the entire trip worthwhile.

After Sentosa, we headed on to Mustafa to do some shopping and then over to Clarke Quey, which is a lot like our Eastwood/Fort party place via their MRT.

Day 4
Our last day was devoted to shopping! The stuff that we ended up buying were mostly gadgets and Wii games! They’re really cheap over there!

Leaving Singapore!

(Top): The first one was taken over at Duty Free, where my mom bought more chocolates. One at the right is me shopping for my Dad at Esprit.
(Bottom): At the Singapore Airport. The entire crew (minus my mom) with my favorite tour guide ever, Eric!

Sunset outside the plane I’ll end this photo-overloaded entry with another photo (shown in the left) taken inside the plane during our flight going back to Manila. The flight was good, and I ended up watching Kite Runner, which is such a good film! I recommend it to everyone.

Looking through our photos and videos made me miss Singapore already. It was just so much fun going around and making the most out of a day. We were enjoying every minute that the exhaustion only took a hold of us once we arrive inside the hotel.

I was quite apprehensive about going back and facing reality like my disappointing grades and the weight I gained! hahaha. Need. To. Diet. ASAP. I also really expected my grades to go down, so it was not a surprise (except for one! damnit!). I’m still missing one PolSci grade. I’m crossing my fingers because I’ve never had anything lower than a B+ for all my PolSci majors. (hahaha. Sorry, gloat alert.)

Apart from that, I also still have a lot of stuff to do for COA and our next trip in Camiguin. I’m packing now for my COA Formsem at Tagaytay, as well as our trip to Camiguin, Cagayan de Oro and Bukidnon the day after. Crazzzyyy! After all that, I’ll be OJT-ing everyday for more than a month. What a busy summer ahead of me.
