    In My Own Bubble

    20 June 2007

The first few days of school didn’t really feel like the usual first few days. Except maybe during photocopying moments, wherein every freakin photocopying machine in the Ateneo is either filled with long lines or crammed with a bulk of photocopying jobs. And as a PolSci major, readings make up most of my subjects. Our readings lists are insanely long, and require occasional trips to various photocopying machines. I have befriended several ‘xerox ladies and gentlemen’ with the hopes that it will come to my advantage eventually.

My MWF Histo and Philo classes are still very much manageable and enjoyable. In fact, it doesn’t even feel like a class at times. Sir Dave Lozada’s class is always a joy with his storytelling, and I find myself engrossed. For Philo, we have yet to start formally, but our past sessions have been surprisingly interesting. Inaabangan ko na ang simula ng aming pamimilosopo.

My POS majors are a bit reminiscent of the past ones I’ve taken last year. Not in a sense that they talk about the same thing, but the load basically feels the same. Maybe just a bit heavier now. More readings, the usual papers and the endless group works. Ha. Lucky me. Oh well, I just have to appreciate everything, and then I’ll eventually get my groove on. haha.

BlueREP Promo has also taken its toll with only a few hours of sleep for the past 2 days. This is mainly for our first production, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee come this July.

The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee

I have no doubts the musical is going to be one serious laugh-trip episode. I’ll plug about it within the next few posts.

    SO.

Despite a promising start, I find myself in a rut. Frustration kicks in at moments when I thought I could hold it in. I would forgo more emotional outbursts seeing as I really try not to divulge as much personal problems here as possible. Let me just say that it is also unfortunate that it’s not entirely my issue, and yet I’m gravely affected. Still. I can’t help but be scared. Hopefully. HOPEFULLY.. things will eventually smoothen out. And I mean that for EVERYTHING.

Oh, nauna na naman akong magcomment.

I’ve been affected by the last part. It stirs some emotional unstableness in me. I don’t know, lately I felt like a dormant volcano—I know something’s wrong but I’m numb to notice it. Masyado kasi akong busy these week (recweek, flood of readings, etc) to notice it.

Sorry nakialam na sa buhay ng may buhay. haha. Just always look at the bright side Pearl. You’ll never get lost.

At nga pala. "Akala mo lang hindi pa tayo nagpipilosopiya pero nagsisimula na talaga tayo."

Oops. Correction. Quotation yung last sentence. Di ko alam kung ba’t nawala yung mga quotation marks.:p

haha. Nakakatuwa ka naman, Randy. :-) Nevertheless, thank YOU for that. Seriously.

Oh, I absolutely agree. If you want to get readings photocopied in time, ay, shucks! Use your charms on the Xerox Manong or Manang. One thing I can compare with the photocopying prices for our case readings: Mas mura pa rin sa USTe. Haha.

Kahit mahal ko na rin (ulit) ang FEU.

    PEARL! :-)

ALWAYS, ALWAYS remember… it’s best to get the BEST and MOST EFFICIENT groupmates. Not necessarily your friends (minsan nga mas okay kapag hindi mo friends, para purely business lang) though. Because after a sem-long paper, you’ll certainly see everyone in their best and WORST behaviors.

Yun lang. :-) Good luck with everything! Philo is always fun, especially come orals week.

    much love, April

Polsci guru, April dear! Thank you.. thank you for the advice and encouragement. I know what you mean by group works. It’s one of the most stressful things in the POS world. haha. Good luck with you too! :)

gah, you just reminded me of my photocopying dilemma the other day. i was all over pedro gil in search for a “xerox stand” without long lines and pending jobs. but heck, every store is full. i ended up waiting… waiting… for a long long time.
