Celebrating 2007

Happy New Year to all!

The year 2007 has been such a defining year for me. Perhaps even that is an understatement considering everything that has happened. There are no regrets whatsoever, only memories, realizations and lessons to live by.

Here’s to…

  • Knowing that I should never underestimate myself, ever! Because I can accomplish amazing things at the most trying and challenging moments. I even surprised myself with getting my highest QPI yet, after what I’ve been through.
  • Falling, learning, enduring, accepting and healing. I guess it’s too late to be cryptic at this point, when it comes to talking about relationships. It’s been one overwhelming experience to say the least. The important thing is that all the roller-coaster of emotions only made room for even more growth.
  • High school friends. Despite the loss of one of my high school classmates, Roa, we were able to reunite and reconnect once again – appreciating life and the people that make up each wonderful day we are given. Being with them allows me room for that sweet escape.
  • My best friends in the world, TATU. They have all proven to be there when I need them. They are my sources of strength and joy. And yes, I have no doubt we will be good friends for a long time.
  • Sabaw at seryoso moments with my blockmates. They’re all very special to me in different ways. And it’s amazing how much I learned so much from them. Of course I have my special mentions. You guys know who you are. I’d never get through 2007 without you both.
  • Even more stressful PolSci classes with memorable teachers. Never did I thought I’d be studying politics this much. More importantly, I’d never realized I would actually appreciate and even enjoy it.
  • Talking more and more about the future that is law school. My blockmates and I have been spending time talking about this very reality. As much as it is an exciting dream for us, we are all still scared and apprehensive.
  • New experiences with Summit as part of Candy’s Council of Cool. I have loved every bit of my one year stint with them. I miss the girls, the editors and our assignments.
  • A wonderful and loving family for giving in to my impulsive shopping, sisters to share series marathons and midnight cravings with and a lot more open and mature conversations with the parental units.

There are many things to celebrate about 2007. But I’m happy to bid it good riddance still. I’m excited about this year. Mostly because, I’m starting out a year like no other. (Well, not unless you count four years ago and going back.) I’m starting out this year with a personal decision and conviction that I am determined to keep for quite a long time. Yes, I am open to changes. I also know that life throws on those unexpected surprises that almost always catches me off guard. But I’d like to think I’m strong and mature enough to make the right decisions.

I’m very much optimistic. Bring it on, 2008.

Happy New Year ate pearlie! sorry kung medyo late na :) Good luck with everything ha I’m looking forward to read more about your future in Law School. But don’t forget to look back in the past kasi makakatulong din ito sa mga desisyon mo sa buhay.

Nice picture by the way! Welcome to 2008!
