BlueREPERTORY Presents Summer of 42
This is just one of the things that have kept me really busy for the past month or so. See me sing, dance and play the eccentric Gloria, 40s style! And after quite a long hiatus from being on stage, I’m finally doing a production with BlueREP! Oh the joy of working with the cast and crew…

Being a grown up means having been a child first!
Ateneo BlueREPERTORY launches its 17th season with Summer of ’42, a warm, wistful musical that ventures through the eyes of three 15-year old boys as they discover the paradox of love and sex at a time of war.
Hermie, Oscy, and Benjie welcome what would be an unforgettable summer… Their thoughts, once occupied by baseball, have now turned to girls, and so pubescent mishaps ensue.
From meeting girls to trying to get to second base, the boys stumble awkwardly on. Hermie befriends Dorothy, a young bride whose husband is fighting in the war. Between them, he discovers a friendship unlike any other. On that fateful summer, Hermie learns a valuable lesson about life, love, sex, and the scope of human compassion.
With direction by Mahar Mangahas (Monday Nights, New Voices, Last 5 Years, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee) musical direction by Laura Cabochan (Bat Boy: The Musical, High School Musical, Hope for the Flowers), choreography by Mian Dimacali (Bat Boy: The Musical), scenic design by Jesus Ignacio (Sister Act: Back in the Habit, Middle Finger Po), and lights design by Voltaire De Jesus, Summer of ’42 opens on July 4, 2008 at the Gonzaga Fine Arts Theatre, Ateneo de Manila University.
